How Great-Tasting Gluten-Free Came To Be
When Silvana Bellone came to America, she brought with her generations of Italian culinary knowledge. A tradition firmly rooted in wheat-based products such as pastas, breads and pizza. The Bellone family has been producing these products at their family business for over 30 years.
So when Silvana was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2003, it wasn't just a limitation on her dietary choices, it was an end to a way of life. One year later, one of her three sons was diagnosed, followed by her niece.
Now she had a mission! A woman who is happiest seeing people smile while eating could no longer live without trying to help. Dissatisfied with the cost and quality of gluten-free products on the market, Silvana researched and developed her own gluten-free recipes by traveling around the world. Soon she began creating great-tasting products to help all celiacs and reclaim her homestyle culinary heritage.
Silvana's bread was created and perfected at Nick's Deli and Pizzeria in Rochester, New York and was forced to expand due to high demand of their gluten free products.
The incredible response and demand led us to create a new name and company. Silvana's Arize Brand bread products are all now produced in a 100% gluten free facility using the best quality ingredients available around the world.
